The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) and the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) are government organizations that play significant roles in promoting tourism in Pakistan.
The PTDC is
responsible for promoting and developing tourism in Pakistan. It operates
various tourist facilities, such as motels, restaurants, and tour buses, and
provides information to tourists about popular destinations and activities. The
PTDC also collaborates with other organizations to develop tourism
infrastructure and promote Pakistan's culture and heritage.
The TDCP on the
other hand, is focused on promoting tourism in the province of Punjab. It
operates various tourist attractions, including theme parks, museums, and
cultural centers, and organizes events to showcase Punjab's culture and
traditions. The TDCP also works with private sector organizations to develop
tourism infrastructure and promote Punjab as a tourist destination. TDCP
launched Punjab Tourism mobile application to facilitate tourists.
Both the PTDC and
TDCP have played critical roles in promoting tourism in Pakistan. They have
helped to improve the country's tourism infrastructure and develop new tourist
destinations. They have also organized events and activities to showcase
Pakistan's culture and heritage to both domestic and international tourists.
Despite the
challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, the PTDC and TDCP have continued
their efforts to promote tourism in Pakistan by implementing various measures,
such as developing new tourist packages, promoting domestic tourism, and
improving health and safety standards for tourists. In this regard, PTDC
prepared a "Strategy to help mitigate the socioeconomic impact of COVID-19 on
Pakistan’s Tourism Industry" and "SOP’s & guidelines for Tourism industry in
the COVID era".
